LOOKING AHEAD INTO 2018

A letter from Anne Rees

All Saints  Parish Weekend March 2018

The MLT are exploring the possibility of a church  weekend away in March 2018..
It would be a time of fun, relaxation, fellowship and spiritual nourishment.  We anticipate having some organised sessions but there will be ample free time too.

We explored a number of venues and have decided Judd’s Folly Hotel would suit us very well.  It is only half an hours drive away and is well situated in 3 acres of rolling countryside, surrounded by country walks and a mile from the bird and nature sanctuary at Oare.  It is a  venue used by other church groups.  The hotel has 28 bedrooms -  a mixture of double, twin, family and single rooms all ensuite.(6 are on the 1st floor and the remainder on the ground floor.  There are two lounges and a small seated area which could be used for children’s activities, a pleasant bar and a large meeting room and garden room.
The weekend is full board with full English and Continental breakfast, a buffet lunch on the Saturday,  3 course evening meals (with choices) Friday and Saturday and a champagne roast Sunday lunch. The food is sourced locally and cooked to order.  Tea and coffee  are available at no extra cost all day.    We anticipate arriving on Friday  in time for the evening meal together and leave Sunday afternoon.

The programme hasn't been arranged yet but will include short talks and prayers after our evening meals, a session after breakfast on Saturday with an outside speaker and  a Communion service on Sunday. (Whilst it is hoped everyone will participate of course, everything is optional).

The cost will be £159.00 per person sharing a room  for the whole weekend ( there is a supplement for single occupancy)
Children under 12 £69.00 sharing a room with 2 parents
Children under 3 £20.00 sharing a room with 2 parents

Lifts can be arranged for those without transport.

The purpose of this initial information is to help us gauge the level of interest.  If we have sufficient people interested we will then go ahead and book a weekend in March 2018.  We need to act quickly to ensure a booking.  If you are interested (no firm commitment at this stage) we would ask you to complete the slip below and return it to Simon ASAP.

Do you or does someone you know work in a supportive role?
Are you required to offer emotional support to
others, discuss sensitive issues or have difficult conversations?

We are all aware that undue stress is being put on staff, who may feel they are not trained or qualified to tackle many of the emotional or mental health problems that come up in their working lives (and at home).

Relate can help you, your staff, your colleagues or your service users to develop useful counselling skills, interview management techniques and enable positive change.

Our next 3 day Counselling Skills for Non Counsellors course is to be held over 3 Wednesdays – 26th April, 3rd & 10th May 2017
at Trinity Resource Centre, St Mary's Avenue, Margate CT9 3TN.
 The cost is £225 pp.

Successful completion of this very popular course can also provide access on to further training. Early booking is advisable as numbers are limited and places are filled on a first come, first served basis.  A leaflet with booking form and questionnaire is attached.  Please return the booking form, pre-course questionnaire with payment at your earliest convenience to secure your place.
